The Spanish Olympic Committee hosted at its headquarters the ceremony organized by SPORT, which recognized figures such as Messi and brothers Marc and Álex Márquez for their ability to transcend beyond victories.
The event, which brought together the highest institutions in sport, honored a selection of individuals who embody the values that transform lives through competitions in which they excel thanks to their unique way of being in the world.
Congrats to: Iris Tió and Dennis González, world gold medalists in artistic swimming; archer Andrés Temiño, who hit the mark against the favored South Koreans on their home turf; motorcyclists Marc and Álex Márquez, world champion and runner-up within the same family; water polo legend Jennifer Pareja; mountaineer Carlos Soria, the oldest climber ever to summit an eight-thousander; world champion and Barça icon Leo Messi; national coach Roberto Martínez, who aims to lead Portugal to its first World Cup title; and race walker María Pérez, the greatest Spanish athlete in history.
