Talking about Sustainability with

Aitor Moll, CEO of Prensa Ibérica.

In this interview, Aitor Moll, CEO of Prensa Ibérica, shares his vision of how sustainability is no longer an option but an essential commitment for brands that aspire to lead the future.

Does your company have a management model that incorporates and/or implements corporate sustainability policies?

Yes, at Prensa Ibérica, as a multimedia communication group, we embrace sustainability as a central pillar of our activity.

We have a clear policy on environmental protection, occupational safety, and continuous improvement, reflected in our respect for the environment, the protection of workers’ health, and the pursuit of excellence in our processes and services.

To this end, we operate an Integrated Management System (ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001) that covers quality, environmental management, and occupational risk prevention, ensuring compliance with regulations and the application of best available practices.

“As a major consumer of paper, we are fully aware of our shared responsibility in the planet’s sustainability.”

Our commitment is to minimize environmental impact, improve working conditions, and ensure the highest quality in our products and services, thereby strengthening the trust of our clients, employees, and society as a whole.

As a major consumer of paper, we are fully aware of our shared responsibility in the planet’s sustainability.

That is why we not only comply with current standards but also move forward toward a sustainable, responsible, and future-oriented management model, aligned with today’s social and environmental expectations.

Does your Board of Directors include any member with exclusive responsibility for managing the company’s sustainability strategy?

As CEO, I assume the responsibilities established by the Board, delegated to the General Management of Finance and Industry, with regard to the management and monitoring of the Integrated Management System.

This system has become a key pillar in strengthening control and implementing measures in the areas of environmental protection and occupational safety—both essential components of the company’s sustainability strategy.

Do you believe that sustainability will be a key factor for your company in the coming years? Could you elaborate on your answer?

Yes, at Prensa Ibérica we firmly believe that the future is green, and we embrace sustainability as an unavoidable responsibility.

Companies have the duty to collaborate in every possible way to ensure a more sustainable planet. Regulations such as carbon footprint measurement and the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) set a path that we fully share and follow, especially as major consumers of paper.

“This ongoing effort allows us to move toward a more responsible, efficient, and environmentally respectful business model.”

We are currently working on calculating our carbon footprint and defining a five-year reduction plan. In addition, we prepare an annual non-financial report, integrated into our accounts, detailing the actions linked to sustainability.

At the same time, we implement the conclusions of our energy audits, which allow us to identify and launch improvement opportunities with a clear environmental focus.

This ongoing effort enables us to move toward a more responsible, efficient, and environmentally respectful business model. Sustainability is not just a commitment—it is a strategic cornerstone for both our present and our future.

What is your opinion on the current corporate sustainability regulations, and what do you think should be improved in the near future?

We believe that corporate sustainability should not be limited to profitability but must also integrate responsibility and resilience—balancing economic gain with care for the planet and the well-being of people, though with important nuances.

In this regard, we support serious, effective, and coherent regulation that places sustainability at the core of the agenda, without losing sight of the practical challenges and costs involved in its implementation. We are aware that adopting these measures requires profound organizational changes that demand time, dedication, budget, and additional effort from companies.

Even so, we are convinced that without an adequate regulatory framework, progress toward a greener future becomes much more difficult. Therefore, we advocate for regulation guided by sound judgment, balance, and common sense, while ensuring that the necessary economic support and incentives are in place to make sustainability goals achievable and realistic for all stakeholders involved.

“We are convinced that without an adequate regulatory framework, moving toward a greener future becomes far more complex.”

Future improvements should focus on developing realistic regulations, as well as expanding and optimizing support mechanisms for companies so that they can meet regulatory requirements. It is crucial to maintain a strong focus on sustainability—not only to ensure the planet’s stability, but also to prioritize people, who are and will continue to be the fundamental pillar of every organization.

How do you assess the value of a corporate event being certified as a sustainable event?
